Erica and Aireen are business owners and moms who share a common interest in being both nerdy and girly… And thought writing a book about it was a good idea!
Meet Aireen Arellano
Aireen lives and works in a Chicago suburb, where she is proudly and joyously raising her young daughter with her wonderfully nerdy mechanical engineer husband named Jeff. Besides getting nerdy and girly with co-author Erica Martin, Aireen also owns a brand design firm and font foundry. She has a passion for celebrating advocacy through art and shining a light on BIPOC creators who long to share their stories.
Aireen considers herself to be nerdy AND girly because she:
Attended an X-Files convention.
Sees the world in brand identity systems and typography.
Rocks a bold lip, lashes, and flawless mani.
Shamelessly adorns her wardrobe and home decor in color, color, color!
Meet Erica Martin
Erica is an extroverted developer and professional geek who is passionate about making the web a more accessible space through education and empowerment. She's married to an equally nerdy engineer and has two wonderful kiddos.
Erica considers herself to be nerdy AND girly because she:
Matches her blue light-blocking glasses to her daily outfits.
Joined a before-school Internet club in 5th grade to build her school's first website.
Has Star Wars and sci-fi tattoos.
Loves pink so much she's incorporated it into every business she's started 👀
